This post takes a look at a popular CTV app from the Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Samsung App Stores. Our reviewer discusses how the subjective factors set forth in the COPPA Rule apply to the app and factor into the reviewer's determination as to whether the app is child-directed or general audience (i.e., it is not targeting children).
The teacher will indicate the factors they relied upon in their assessment using the 10 factors shown below that reflect the 10 child-directed factors in the COPPA Rule.
The gameplay screenshots of Mumbo Jumbo Kids have inviting animation cartoon-style graphics with characteristics directed toward children. The channel is great for enjoyment and learning. All the videos are of simple entertainment and visuals. The channel's content is primarily in Hindi and English language. The channel’s language has keywords in this game such as, ”kids and nursery rhymes.” Once the app is downloaded, different animated shows are accessible to pick which best fits what you are searching for. There is a moderate amount of English language videos with titles such as Cinderella, The Three Little Pigs, and Rapunzel. Mumbo Jumbo Kids is a channel that is educational, age-appropriate and engaging.
The game is categorized under Education for Samsung, all ages for Fire TV, and Kids & Family for Roku. There is no age gate.

The developer’s privacy policy states, “we do not collect any personal identifiable information and we will never request, prompt or encourage the submission of such information...we will never collect any personal information by passively tracking a child.”
