Apr 28, 2021 11:06:00 AM

Pixalate recently released the industry’s first Connected TV App-Ads.txt Reports for Roku Apps and Amazon Fire TV Apps, reviewing app-ads.txt adoption trends in 2020.

The reports analyze the state of app-ads.txt adoption among Connected TV (CTV) apps in the Roku and Amazon Fire TV Channel Stores (“Roku apps” and “Fire TV apps”) in 2020.

This blog details the most popular supply-side platforms (SSPs) used by the top Roku apps, as of the end of Q4 2020.

Google is the most common SSP listed on top Roku app-ads.txt files

  • 31% of the top 500 Roku apps* list Google as either a direct or reseller partner on app-ads.txt files — highest coverage rate of all sellers as of Q4 2020
  • SpotX (recently acquired by Magnite) is the second-most common partner listed, followed by Magnite, AppNexus, and FreeWheel
  • All 5 of the top-ranked SSPs work with at least 144 Roku apps in the Roku top 500*, while the average SSP works with 28 publishers in the Roku top 500*

*Note: “Top apps” are based on the number of programmatic ads sold, net of invalid traffic (IVT), as measured by Pixalate. "Top SSPs" refers solely to how often an SSP is listed on app-ads.txt files.
