Pixalate’s Connected TV (CTV) Ad Fraud Series for February 2023 reveals higher spoofing rates across the board for both Amazon Fire TV and Roku compared to January

LONDON, March 9, 2022 -- Pixalate, the market-leading fraud protection, privacy, and compliance analytics platform for Connected TV (CTV) and Mobile Advertising, today released the February 2023 CTV Ad Fraud Series, where we highlight unique forms of invalid traffic (IVT), inclusive of “ad fraud,” across the Connected TV (CTV) open programmatic advertising marketplace.

Key Findings:

  • Multiple Roku apps spiked in February, with Lifetime, Xumo Play, Crackle, and the NBA app all having over half of their measured open programmatic traffic affected by spoofing.
  • News apps comprise nine of the top 15 apps on the Amazon Fire TV list, with Fox News and WNEP leading the category.
  • HappyKids, a child-directed video streaming app, emerges as the Amazon Fire TV app third most affected by spoofing in February.
