Pixalate's Publisher Spotlight Video Series focuses on Connected TV (CTV) and mobile app publishers that achieve high positions in the Publisher Trust Index, which ranks publishers based on overall quality for programmatic advertising.

Today's featured interview is with NewsON and Kevin Connelly, Director of Programmatic Monetization at Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns NewsON.

 

NewsON led the way in the Roku Publisher Trust Index in August 2021

NewsON provides free access to live and on-demand newscasts and local news clips from nearly 300 trusted local TV stations in over 165 U.S. markets from 16 station partner groups. NewsON is free and available for download on Samsung Smart TVs, Roku devices, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and iOS and Android mobile devices. Viewers can also access NewsON’s web-based product NewsON.us as another way to connect with local news from across the country. 

The app obtained the highest possible mark ("A") across all measured metrics in the August 2021 edition of the Publisher Trust Index for the Roku Channel Store. NewsON performed exceptionally well, particularly in the Invalid Traffic (IVT) and Ad Density categories, by scoring 95 and 99 in these metrics, respectively. 

Pixalate spoke with Kevin Connelly, Director of Programmatic Monetization at Sinclair Broadcast Group, about maintaining quality in the CTV programmatic advertising ecosystem.
