This week's review of ad fraud and privacy in the digital advertising space:
Pixalate this week released the Delisted Mobile Apps Report: Q1 2023, analyzing apps from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store that are no longer available for download as of Q1 2023. Find out more in this blog and get free access to the report below.
We also released the Q1 2023 Seller Trust Indexes — including the Connected TV Seller Trust Index, Mobile Seller Trust Index, and Web Seller Trust Index. Pixalate’s Seller Trust Indexes are the worldwide standards in programmatic advertising quality ratings. You can find out more in this blog and check out the full rankings below.
This week we also announced the launch of our new search page for apps and games manually reviewed by Pixalate’s Trust and Safety Advisory Board. The manual review series was launched in late 2022 to increase transparency and educate developers, marketers, and privacy advocates regarding the application of the COPPA Rule factors to the mobile and CTV app ecosystem. You can read more about the new page in this blog and take a look at the page below.
Pixalate's Trust & Safety Advisory Board published five new manual reviews this week where they assess an app’s child-directedness:

We followed up on the Q1 2023 IVT and Ad Fraud Benchmarks Report, which was a comprehensive examination of the global state of IVT and ad fraud in Q1 2023 across the top two CTV (Roku, Amazon Fire TV) and mobile (Apple, Google) app stores. We thought it would be beneficial to highlight some of the most interesting findings from the report in this blog. Access the full report below.
We also followed up on the Q1 2023 CTV Bundle ID Mapping Report, a study of billions of open programmatic CTV ad transactions in Q1 2023 to provide insights into the scale of variations in CTV Bundle IDs. We wanted to highlight some of the most interesting findings from the report in this blog. Access the full report below.

Per the MRC, “'Fraud' is not intended to represent fraud as defined in various laws, statutes and ordinances or as conventionally used in U.S. Court or other legal proceedings, but rather a custom definition strictly for advertising measurement purposes. Also per the MRC, “‘Invalid Traffic’ is defined generally as traffic that does not meet certain ad serving quality or completeness criteria, or otherwise does not represent legitimate ad traffic that should be included in measurement counts. Among the reasons why ad traffic may be deemed invalid is it is a result of non-human traffic (spiders, bots, etc.), or activity designed to produce fraudulent traffic.”
